Curriculum
A solid grounding in literacy and numeracy forms the basis of teaching and learning in the Junior School, and all 7 year olds are assessed within the National Curriculum Key Stage 1 Framework.
Keble School puts a great value on its broad curriculum with the role of Science, History, Geography and Religious Studies being important in helping boys appreciate the world around them as well as providing opportunities to practice their literacy and numeracy skills.
Drama and Art are cross-curricular and specialist lessons in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Swimming, Games, Music, PE and French are all introduced at appropriate ages to broaden the curriculum.
Class sizes are small, the favorable ratio of teachers and classroom assistants to pupils enables us to provide a high degree of individual attention according to the ability and need of individuals. Setting by ability takes place for the first time in Maths in Year 4.
