Sport at Keble Prep
As you would expect at an all-boys school, team sport is an important part of our daily life. From Reception all boys receive specialist physical education (PE) lessons where movement, gymnastics and ball skills are developed, and this continues through the middle school.
In Year 3 we introduce a range of sport to the timetable. Soccer is played in the Autumn term, with some competitive fixtures taking place against other schools. Rugby is introduced at a non-contact level in Spring and in Summer the boys enjoy the facilities at Winchmore Hill Cricket Club for cricket and athletics. Swimming tuition takes place at Southgate Leisure Centre.
As the boys get older the importance of a healthy lifestyle becomes more crucial and two games sessions are included per week. In the Summer term boys can play tennis, and we have our Sports Day at Pickett's Lock, where all the boys can compete for their house.
Competition is fostered through regular fixtures with other schools in all the major sports as well as inter-house tournaments. A list of fixtures is shown within the Calendar of Events. Parents are welcome to come and support.
